Privacy Policy

GTA 5 in Browser is a fan project at gta5browserplay.com. This page explains, in plain terms, which details about your visit end up on our side, why we keep them, which outside companies are involved and how you can limit all of it. Anything you want clarified can be sent to [email protected].

At a Glance

  • No registration is needed to read guides or launch a game
  • Our server keeps routine technical records of each visit
  • Cookies power basic features, visit statistics and, once ads are live, advertising
  • Each game runs from an outside platform that follows its own rules
  • Your personal details are never traded to anyone for cash

What Our Server Records

Opening any page on the site makes your device send a short technical request. Along with it come details such as your IP address, the browser and system you use, the address that referred you, the pages you open and a timestamp. These entries land in our hosting company’s log files. We look at them to spot attacks, track down broken pages and get a rough sense of how many people stop by.

A simple counter also tallies how often each game and guide is opened. We only ever look at those totals; they say nothing about who you are.

What You Send Us Yourself

Some pages have a comment or review form. When you use it, the name and message you type are saved together with the usual technical details of that request. Writing to our email address gives us your address and the contents of your letter. Both are used for one purpose only: showing your comment, replying to you or handling whatever you asked for.

How Cookies Are Used Here

A cookie is a tiny file that a site leaves in your browser so it can recognize it later. On this site they serve three jobs:

Type What it does
Functional Keeps simple settings and helps the site tell a new visitor from a returning one
Measurement Lets analytics tools count visits and show which sections people use
Advertising Allows ad partners to deliver ads and check how they perform, as explained in the next section

Your browser settings let you refuse or clear cookies whenever you like. Pages will still open, but a few features may act a little differently.

Ads From Google and Other Partners

We plan to show advertising, including ads delivered through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors such as Google rely on cookies to choose ads based on the sites you have visited before, this one included. Through its advertising cookies, Google and the companies it works with can select ads for you based on your visits here and to other sites across the web.

To switch off ad personalization from Google, open Google Ads Settings. Many other vendors can be turned off in one place at aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org. Google describes what it does with data from partner sites on its page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Games Hosted Elsewhere

We don’t store any of the catalog games ourselves. Pressing Play opens the game inside a frame, and everything in that frame comes from an outside platform. That platform can gather data, place cookies and run ads of its own, all under a policy we have no say over. Links that take you off our site work the same way: once you leave, the other site’s rules apply.

When Details Reach Others

Selling personal information is not something we do. A few service providers handle data on our behalf so the site can run, among them our host, our analytics tools and advertising partners, and each of them operates under its own terms. Beyond that, we would only pass information on when the law requires it, when a valid legal request arrives, or when it is needed to protect the site and the people who use it.

Children

This site is meant for adults and teenagers, not for children under 13, and we never knowingly collect details from anyone that young, in keeping with COPPA, the U.S. law that guards children’s privacy on the internet. The ESRB rates Grand Theft Auto V as M (Mature 17+). If you learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information, let us know and we will erase it.

Your Options

  • Cookies: block or clear them in your browser
  • Ads: use the opt-out pages listed above
  • Your own submissions: ask us to show, fix or remove a comment or email you sent
  • Nothing at all: you can read every page without submitting anything

If You Live in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as updated by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), lets California residents find out which personal information is collected about them, have it corrected or deleted, refuse its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and use these rights without being treated differently. Because ad cookies from our partners may be treated as “sharing” under that law, you can restrict them with the opt-out pages above and your browser controls, or simply email us with your request.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” request. Since no common rule exists for how a site should react to it, ours currently works the same either way. The cookie and ad controls described on this page work regardless.

How Long Things Stay

Log entries are held only for as long as they help with security and fixing problems. A published comment stays visible until we take it down or you ask us to. Emails are kept while the matter they concern is still open.

Keeping Data Safe

We use sensible technical measures to protect the site and what it stores. Still, no transfer over the internet and no storage method can be made completely safe, so we can’t promise total security.

Updates to This Page

This page will change when the site does or when new rules call for it. The revision date at the top always shows the current version, and using the site after a change counts as accepting it.
